The Cushions

Our buoyant cushions were born out of a love for fun, beauty and an affection for home. The very nature of ‘a cushion’ is symbolic of comfort and of cuddles, of cosiness and of calm; they stand for the joy of a lazy morning, the power of an afternoon nap, the delight of a cosy night in. Yet, they are also pretty extras, inviting treats, popping decor! Whether sprinkled on sofas, or bundled on beds, they add depth and meaning. They add dimension. From placement to pattern to position to plumpness - the cushion must not be overlooked. 

Designer, Grace, dreamt up her ‘frilly frivolities’ whilst decorating her one-bed flat. Space was at a premium and every decision needed to be meaningful. The armchair remained empty for months because no cushion would do. No ruffle was big enough. No linen was lush enough. No design was ‘Home’ enough. 

Like the determined SE Londoner she is, Grace took matters into her own hands via a scrappy piece of paper and a shabby biro. She began dreaming of the kind of cushion that she wanted to dominate her living space. With a dreamy vision, dedicated work and a devoted effort to connect with the right manufacturer, The Cushion was born. 

Her armchair is finally complete.
